This refreshing and unusual interpretation of the 4500-year old printing technique, ‘Ajrak’, is a feast for the eyes that love seeing a beautiful craft come to life. One of a kind block printed cotton scarves with handcrafted and unique tassels at every corner.
‘Ajrak’ can be traced back to around 2500 BC. A type of resist printing and dyeing technique, it is a painstaking process that involves several stages of printing and washing repeatedly with mordants and natural dyes such as myrobalan, alizarin, indigo and iron to achieve a desired final pattern - some patterns so intricate that they take up to a few weeks to complete!
